Dan Do
Partner, LegalCurrently an active member of the State Bar of California, Mr. Do has more than 30 years of experience practicing law. In the early 90s, after participating in a flood relief mission in Hue, the ancient capital of Vietnam, Mr. Do was approached by several clients seeking to establish cost centers for US companies, mostly in the high-tech sector, such as Softech and Evizi. He thus began to focus on providing legal consultation services to business entities on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. He became general counsel of several start-up companies in the US, such as Golinq.com and Sapphire Communications, taking charge of the legal needs of these companies. He supervised the legal aspects of transactions between the parties to those transactions, including due diligence and licensing works. These works eventually turned him into an expert in the culture of business transactions in Asia.
Mr. Do was also involved in philanthropic activities, starting with his participation of the flood relief mission in Vietnam. Together with his late spouse, he became a member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Hue Foundation (FHF), a nonprofit organization that established a shelter for at risk children in central Vietnam, beginning with children who lost their parents to the great flood of 1999. To help the organization become self-supportive, he and his spouse established the Virtual Assistant Center (VAC) operating under FHF’s umbrella. VAC provides project management services for companies in the US. VAC practically has become a “cost center” for these companies.
Mr. Do now joins Redsun Capital, applying his broad range of experience and knowledge about the legal aspect of corporate activities together with the understanding of the business culture of Asia to help the company with all transactions that require the understanding of the dynamics of growth and development of Southeast Asia, as well as the complexities and protocols of the already developed system of the West, which is dominated by the US and West Europe, as well as Asian powerhouse such as China, Japan and South Korea.
